I have updated Kangaroo for GC. The new release has many of the updates and fixes that Daniel Piker added to the grasshopper version. Some new features include:
Bending forces now have a start angle and the force will now try to keep the bending at that angle. for example if you want to keep a polygon in a specific shape (hexagon) the bending force will try to maintain the angle.
Planerize and Equilize...
I am happy to announce that Kangaroo is ready for general release. it has been a long time coming. Many thanks to the Bentley for some support and to the beta testers who helped out. You will find the download in the download page, examples and help document are included in the download.
I have just finished initial development on a new plugin which interfaces GC with reacTIVision tables (check out the vimeo video's). i want to clean it up a little more before i release it but it will be out shortly. until then you can watch a quick video! in the video i used the digital version of a reactavision table to make it easy to record.
GC reacTIVision (full size)
Kangaroo will be released soon for the general public but at this point i am accepting a limited number of beta testers to try out the plugin and provide feed back. if you wish to participate please send an email to email@example.com with "kangaroo for GC" as the subject.
the maya particle for GC has been updates to work with the latest release of GC. it has been tested on version 188.8.131.52. you will find new instructions in PROJECTS > MAYA IMPORTER page and the download is available in the DOWNLOAD PAGE
The rcQhull plugin for GC was updated to fix an issue with not having the correct version of Microsoft Reactive Extensions installed. The plugin now does not require you to install the RX extensions. The required library is now included with the plugin.
I am in the final stages of finishing up a version of Daniel Pikers Kangaroo Physics Engine for Generative Components. It will have all of the features the Grasshopper version has. For those not familiar with Kangaroo it is a physics simulator that can do mesh relaxation (cloth), bending , collision, particles and many other physics simulations. take a look at some of THESE VIDEOS for more demo's.
i found a major error in the maya particle to grasshopper component and have fixed it. i recommend anyone using it use the old version upgrade to the new. you can find the new version in the download section.
